ENACOM, or the Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones, is Argentina's national communications and media regulator, established in December 2015 and launched in January 2016. Based in Buenos Aires, it operates as an autonomous entity under the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers. ENACOM was formed by consolidating the former Federal Authority for Audiovisual Communication Services and the Federal Authority for Information and Communication Technologies. The organization regulates telecommunications, broadcasting, and digital services, overseeing fixed and mobile telephony, internet services, and audiovisual content. ENACOM promotes digital inclusion, ensuring universal access to information and communication technologies, especially in rural and low-income areas. Its mission focuses on defending user rights and fostering competitive markets through active regulation, aiming to become an international benchmark in communications regulation.
