DSM is the largest airport in Iowa and is managed by the Des Moines Airport Authority. Our mission is to provide a safe and convenient travel experience for all while improving the quality of air service to and from the great State of Iowa. The Airport is on the south side of Des Moines, a mere 5 miles from Downtown Des Moines. There are six commercial airlines serving the market. Two fun facts: 1) DSM is an international airport because Customs & Border Protection is onsite clearing over 300 international general aviation flights annually. 2) The Airport is more than the terminal facility. The campus is comprised of 2,600 acres and includes two runways, 46 buildings, 7 parking facilities and, of course, the terminal.
