RT (formerly Russia Today) is a global international news network that broadcasts in multiple languages from its studios in Moscow and Washington, DC. Launched in December 2005 as Russia Today, RT now reaches nearly 650 million viewers worldwide. RT covers the major issues of our time for viewers wishing to question more and delivers stories often missed by the mainstream media to create news with an edge. Aside from regular news updates, RT offers a unique insight into many aspects of Russian history, culture and opinions. The RT network consists of three global news channels broadcasting in English, Spanish and Arabic, RT America broadcasting from a Washington, DC studio, a documentary channel RTDoc and a full-service video agency, RUPTLY. RT has 22 bureaus in 19 countries and territories, with a presence in Washington, New York, London, Paris, Delhi, Cairo, Baghdad, Kiev and other key cities and employs over 1000 journalists around the globe. In 2010, RT became the first Russian channel to be nominated for the prestigious International Emmy award, in the News category. The network received its second nomination, in 2012, for coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement, becoming the only Russian TV channel with two iEmmy nods for News coverage. The best of our broadcasts can be found on RT's YouTube channel - the first TV news channel in YouTube's history to reach ONE BILLION views on the platform.
