Prince de Bretagne - Cerafel is a collective brand representing fresh fruit and vegetable producers in northern Brittany, France. Established in 1970, it brings together around 1,600 to 1,700 market gardeners organized into three cooperatives. The Cerafel association manages the brand, ensuring quality compliance, overseeing product marketing, and coordinating research efforts. The products are cultivated along a 45 km-wide coastal strip, benefiting from a temperate oceanic climate ideal for vegetable growing. The independent family farmers within the brand maintain a human-scale agricultural model, growing a wide range of vegetables, including cauliflower, tomatoes, shallots, early potatoes, artichokes, and broccoli, as well as about 145 different varieties, including organic options. Organic production represents over 20% of turnover in some cooperatives. Prince de Bretagne supports marketing efforts for its produce, which is sold by approximately 80 authorized private companies across various channels in Europe. The organization emphasizes fair remuneration for producers while preserving their independence, focusing on high-quality, locally grown Breton vegetables.
