Official Malaysia Pavilion at UNFCCC. Malaysia, as a party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), will actively participate in the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, commonly referred to as COP28. This event is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 12, 2023, in Expo City Dubai. In 2021, Malaysia updated its Nationally Determined Contribution, committing to a 45% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity by 2030 based on 2005 level. In 2022, Malaysia further declared its aspiration to achieve net-zero GHG emissions as early as 2050, subject to the outcome of Long Term Low Emissions Development Strategies. Malaysia remains committed in implementing climate actions to mitigate emissions and build resilience, reaffirming its dedication to the Paris Agreement. Malaysia will once again be represented with a country pavilion at COP28, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change (NRECC) and the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC). The pavilion will serve as a platform for Malaysia to showcase its climate initiative and commitment grounded in a whole-of-nation approach. The emphasis will be on the theme "Going Beyond: Green Growth, Resilient Community, and Sustainable Planet".
