The Bank Guarantee Fund (BFG) is a Polish institution established in 1995 to ensure the stability of the national financial system by protecting depositors' savings. It operates as an independent legal entity under the supervision of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (PFSA). The BFG is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025. The primary service of the BFG is managing the domestic bank deposit guarantee scheme in Poland. This scheme reimburses depositors up to 100,000 euros per depositor per bank in the event of a bank's failure. The BFG also provides financial assistance to banks facing difficulties, oversees the financial health of participating banks, and conducts analyses to ensure the effectiveness of the deposit guarantee system. Its services are available to all depositors in banks that participate in the scheme, including both individual and corporate clients.
