The European Biodiesel Board (EBB) is a non-profit organization based in Brussels, Belgium, established in January 1997. It serves as the European Federation of Biodiesel producers, representing around 75% of the European biodiesel output. The EBB promotes the use of biodiesel as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels, highlighting its benefits in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing energy security. The organization is dedicated to sustainability standards in biodiesel production and engages with European policymakers to advocate for supportive policies. It represents biodiesel producers utilizing various feedstocks, including food/feed crops, waste, residues, and innovative biogenic materials. The EBB focuses on promoting biodiesel and renewable diesel products, such as Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME) and Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). With a membership base of 34 companies across 21 EU Member States, the EBB plays a vital role in advancing the European biodiesel industry and fostering a circular bioeconomy.
