The Digital Egypt Pioneers Initiative (DEPI) was launched in December 2023 by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Its goal is to position Egypt as a regional leader in information and communication technology (ICT) by developing a skilled workforce that can drive digital transformation. DEPI focuses on empowering students and graduates with essential technical skills, fostering innovation, and enhancing competitiveness in the ICT sector. DEPI offers comprehensive training programs in collaboration with local and global tech companies. These include technology tracks in software development, AI and data science, cybersecurity, digital arts, business analysis, and embedded systems. The initiative also provides hands-on workshops, courses for freelancing skill development, and career readiness programs. DEPI prepares participants to enter the global freelance market and aligns its training with industry needs through partnerships with tech firms. Its mission is to build a competitive workforce equipped for the evolving job market in ICT.
