The Koninklijk Conservatorium - Royal Conservatoire in The Hague is the oldest conservatoire in the Netherlands, established in 1826 by King William I. It is part of the University of the Arts The Hague and collaborates closely with the Royal Academy of Art, creating a unique environment for music, dance, and artistic research. The conservatoire offers a range of programs, including Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in classical performance, early music, jazz, composition, and sonology, as well as academic theatre dance programs. It emphasizes innovation and tradition, providing students with opportunities for academic rigor and professional practice. The institution also engages in artistic research through the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts at Leiden University, focusing on interdisciplinary projects. Regular performances, including concerts and dance productions, showcase the talents of students and faculty, while alumni contribute to global orchestras and dance companies.
