IOI Oleochemical Industries Berhad (Malaysia)

IOI Oleochemical Group, also known as IOI Oleo Group, with principal activities of manufacturing and sales of fatty acids, glycerine, soap noodles and fatty esters and specialty downstream oleochemical derivatives. The oleochemicals manufacturing activities are undertaken in Penang and Johor by various wholly-owned subsidiaries of IOI Oleochemical Industries Berhad. The Oleo division acquired another two oleochemical manufacturing facilities in Germany. These facilities specialise in esterification with multi-step short-path distillation, distillation and fractionation of fatty acids and production of medium-chain triglycerides to produce a broad array of specialty products for the pharmaceutical, personal care, cosmetic, food and performance chemicals. It will accord us the opportunity to move further up the value chain into a more specialised downstream oleochemical manufacturing business segment. This site complements and benefits the fairly new fatty ester production site in Penang through the transfer of advanced technical, application development and process know-how. IOI Oleochemical is one of the largest oleochemical producers with principle activities of manufacturing and sales of fatty acids, glycerine, soap noodles, fatty esters and specialty downstream oleochemical derivatives to more than 80 countries worldwide mainly to Japan, China and Europe. We are under resource-based manufacturing division of IOI Group. Our versatile products are used in a wide variety of applications, including manufacturing of detergents, surfactants, shampoos, soaps, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, food additives and plastics.
