IDEATE MEDIA SDN BHD is a content company jointly owned by Rhizophora Ventures Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned company of Khazanah Nasional Berhad to hold its creative content investments) and Astro Overseas Limited (the international division of Malaysia's leading integrated media entertainment group). Our mission is to develop, produce and commercialize high quality content for global audiences, working across multiple formats and genres: television and feature film, fiction and non-scripted, animation and live action. We develop and seek out stories, talent and properties suitable to engage global audiences, especially, though not exclusively, stories with Asian elements, settings and themes. Malaysia has emerged as a significant new destination for international filmmakers, thanks to the Film In Malaysia Incentive (FIMI), the opening of Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios and a slew of other initiatives by the Malaysian Government. Ideate is positioned to play an active role in this growth; forging strategic partnerships with domestic and international players to create value and maximize the commercial potential of each project. We are headquartered in Technology Park Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur and have a satellite office in Los Angeles.
