Founded as a registered non-profit association in 2002, the Center for Science and Research Management (ZWM e.V.) in Speyer adopts and focusses on needs and challenges of the science and research system. Implementing these new impetus in training programs, consulting services and the promotion of the web platform and network for science and research managers, the ZWM assists universities and research institutions in refining their management. The ZWM acts in three fields: Training programs: The courses of the Center for Science and Research Management afford an opportunity to prospective and experienced science and research managers to expand their management skills and to professionalize their leadership expertise parallel to their professional activity. The courses „Science and Research Management", „Science and Research Management for advanced managers" and „Professional Leadership in Science" target job entrants in the scientific community as well as advanced employees of universities and research centers and executive managers in the science system. In workshops, organized by theme, the Center offers junior employees as well as leaders in the science system a focused training. The workshops cover topics such as finance, law, administration and communication and are in line with requirements of members of the scientific system. Consulting services: For high-level performance in research and knowledge transfer competent leadership is an indispensable prerequisite. The Center conducts consulting projects for universities, government agencies and research centers. „wissenschaftsmanagement.online": The Center has developed the web platform "wissenschaftsmanagement-online.de" that bundles information about several fields in science and research management and serves as a network specific to this profession. The platform provides case studies, scientific publications, transfer of knowledge and a job board for vacancies in science and research management.
