People to People International (PTPI) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Its mission is to promote peace and international understanding through direct personal diplomacy and grassroots interactions among citizens worldwide. With a presence in over 160 countries, PTPI connects individuals across diverse cultures, fostering cultural understanding and leadership development. The organization offers a variety of educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities aimed at enhancing international friendship. These include leadership development programs, cultural exchanges, and global networking opportunities. PTPI engages families and individuals, boasting over 80,000 active participants in more than 125 countries. Its programs are designed to facilitate international exchanges and cultural experiences, funded through program fees, membership dues, and donations. PTPI has a rich history of support from notable figures and continues to operate through its local chapters, which serve communities around the world. The organization recently established a Global Coordination Centre in Brussels, Belgium, to enhance its operations and better support its mission.
