The Michigan Investment Group (MIG) is a student-managed organization focused on investments at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. MIG was founded with the purpose of helping both business and non-business students, who have an interest in markets and the world of finance. MIG is built upon principles of entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary thinking, and innovation. Designed by our founders and refined over the years by engineers, mathematicians, and investors, the Portfolio Committee embodies these values through the intersection of our Quant and Investing sides. In aims to leverage the full capacity of MIG, students have implemented a Black-Litterman portfolio optimization model, analyzed derivatives markets to determine event probabilities, and held passionate debates about asset allocation decisions against an increasingly complex macroeconomic backdrop, among others. Collectively, the Michigan Investment Group has provided an excellent platform for young students to explore many of the most challenging problems in finance today.
