CORE Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, customer-owned electric distribution cooperative based in Sedalia, Colorado. Founded in 1938, it is the largest electric distribution cooperative in Colorado and one of the largest in the United States. CORE serves over 375,000 residents across a 5,000-square-mile area, which includes parts of 11 counties around the Denver metropolitan area. The cooperative focuses on providing reliable electric power and integrates renewable energy by purchasing from utility-scale solar facilities. CORE operates 266 miles of energized transmission lines and has a stake in the Comanche Unit 3 coal-fired generating plant. It also supports local economic growth through business development services, including site selection assistance. As a member-owned cooperative, CORE returns earnings to its members in the form of capital credit refunds, reinforcing its commitment to affordable and reliable energy.
