Salesians Sant Vicenç dels Horts School was founded in 1969 by the Salesians Order. From 1969 until 1999 it was only a vocational school and since 1999 it has been a secondary and vocational school. Our school wants to provide our students with an integral education based not only in knowledge, but also focussing on human values. There are approximately 1000 students and the teaching staff is made up of 70 teachers plus the non teaching personnel. We are located in a highly industrialized area near Barcelona and every year our students make work placements within companies of our area. We collaborate with different industries offering them customized courses and we also collaborate with the Employment Department doing courses for unemployed people. Since 2008 our school has taken part in European projects to improve our students’ language skills and technical knowledge. Day by day we’re working to increase foreign school partners and to take part in a wide range of European programmes.
