Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) has been set up through an Act of Parliament by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India as an "Institute of National Importance" along the lines of IITs and promoted by leading oil & gas PSUs of India, such as ONGC, IOCL, GAIL (India) Ltd., BPCL, OIL, HPCL, EIL and NRL in association with OIDB. The prime objectives of the institute are to provide world class education, training and research and to roll out efficient human resource to meet the growing requirements of the Petroleum & Energy Sector. Currently, RGIPT offering following programmes from Jais, Dist- Amethi Campus: UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES 1. B. Tech. in Petroleum Engineering (4-Year Full-Time Programme) 2. B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering (4-Year Full-Time Programme) Admission Process: Through IIT-JEE (Advanced) Ranking POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMMES 1. M. Tech. in Petroleum Engineering (2-Year Full-Time Programme) 2. M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering (2-Year Full-Time Programme) Admission Process: Through GATE score followed by Personal Interview MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME 1. MBA (Energy Management, Finance, HR & Marketing) Duration: 2-Year Full-Time Programme Admission Process: Through CAT/GMAT/CMAT/XAT Score followed by Written Test and Personal Interview DOCTORAL PROGRAMMES Ph. D. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Renewable Energy, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Geophysics, Geo-informatics.
