The Oregon Research Institute (ORI) is an independent, nonprofit behavioral sciences research center located in Eugene, Oregon. Founded in 1960, ORI is dedicated to understanding human behavior and enhancing the quality of life through scientific research. The institute employs around 165 staff members, including 49 research scientists, and has satellite offices in Portland, Oregon, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. ORI conducts multidisciplinary research primarily funded by federal grants from the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Education. Its research covers a wide range of topics related to human behavior and health, such as childhood obesity, adolescent depression, and substance use.
