DeepMap, Inc. was a software company based in Palo Alto, California, founded in 2016 by former employees of Google and Apple. The company specialized in high-definition mapping and localization solutions for autonomous vehicles. DeepMap developed precise, real-time maps that enhanced the safety and reliability of self-driving systems. In June 2021, DeepMap was acquired by NVIDIA to strengthen its autonomous vehicle mapping capabilities. The company created centimeter-accurate 3D maps using lidar, cameras, and sensor fusion technology. Its localization software allowed vehicles to determine their position accurately within mapped environments, even under dynamic conditions. DeepMap also provided data collection solutions for fleet operators, enabling them to gather and process mapping data for integration into custom HD maps. Following the acquisition, DeepMap's tools were integrated into NVIDIA’s DRIVE platform, contributing to the development of comprehensive autonomous driving solutions.
