Second Servings is Houston's only perishable food rescue organization. Since 2015, the nonprofit has been building a healthier community by providing access to nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste. Second Servings picks up unsold and unserved food from over 450 food businesses and delivers it promptly and safely, for free, to 150 local nonprofit partners. Second Servings has delivered more than 15 million pounds of food, valued at $103 million, to over 250,000 Houstonians annually.
