It started with a single question, “There has to be a better way?”. It’s a question that people with a disability, carers, families and support staff all over Australia ask themselves everyday. Maree and her mother were drowning in phone calls, emails, diaries, calendars, invoices and spreadsheets. For five years they’d been helping Maree’s brother Nick to self-manage his disability support services. The paperwork, scheduling and difficulty communicating was getting to be too much. Maree went looking for a better way, but couldn’t find one. That’s when Maree’s mission to help other families began. Working in the disability services sector for over 25 years, Maree knew she had to use her lived experience to help others. THE APP The Life Our Way app is for everyone.
