Fundecitrus, or the Fund for Citrus Protection, is a non-profit organization based in Araraquara, São Paulo, Brazil. Founded around 44 years ago, it supports citrus growers and the juice industry in the region. The organization focuses on promoting sustainable development through research, innovation, and technology transfer. Fundecitrus engages in extensive research with over 80 ongoing projects and has published more than 100 scientific papers. It operates 68 experimental areas across over 390 hectares to improve citrus production practices. The organization has trained around 30,000 professionals and supported 72 master's degree graduates, contributing to the sector's skilled workforce. Its Sustainable Citriculture initiative promotes responsible agricultural practices and environmental preservation. Fundecitrus collaborates with international partners and works with companies to address challenges like Citrus Greening, enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of the Brazilian citrus industry.
