iwell is a Dutch energy technology company founded in 2016 and based in Utrecht. The company focuses on developing smart energy solutions that promote sustainability and energy independence across Europe. iwell aims to transform the energy system from a centralized, fossil-fuel-based model to a local, clean, and dynamic one, providing clean and affordable energy. iwell specializes in modular, software-driven Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) tailored for the commercial and industrial sectors. These systems enable businesses to store energy when supply is high and prices are low, and to release it during peak demand. This helps reduce energy costs, alleviate grid load, and enhance the use of on-site renewable energy. iwell also offers real-time data monitoring and management, supporting intelligent energy decisions and grid stability. The company has partnered with DAF Trucks to assist customers in fleet electrification across major European markets. In April 2025, iwell secured €27 million in funding to further its mission of building a pan-European energy powerhouse, enhancing energy security and promoting the use of clean energy.
