DZNE is a biomedical research institute dedicated to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and ALS. DZNE's mission is to develop novel strategies for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care and to translate these into practice. DZNE operates 10 sites across Germany and cooperates with universities, university hospitals, and other institutions in Germany and abroad. It is government funded, a member of the Helmholtz Association and of the German Centers for Health Research.
