DHIS2 is an open-source software platform designed as a Health Management Information System (HMIS). Developed and managed by the HISP Centre at the University of Oslo, it serves a global network of local HISP groups. Recognized as a Digital Public Good, DHIS2 enhances health information management across the world. The platform offers a range of services, including data collection on various devices, data analysis and visualization tools, and customization options to meet specific organizational needs. It is equipped with industry-standard security features to protect data and ensure compliance with local regulations. DHIS2 is utilized by Ministries of Health in over 75 low- and middle-income countries and supports various sectors, including education, agriculture, and e-governance. Financially supported by a coalition of global partners, DHIS2 exemplifies a sustainable and adaptable solution for health information management, particularly in resource-challenged environments.
