The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) is a not-for-profit organization focused on alleviating world hunger through food banking. Established in 2006 by key organizations, GFN aims to create, support, and strengthen food banks and food bank networks globally, excluding the U.S. The organization envisions a world free of hunger, where food systems effectively nourish both people and the planet. GFN provides essential services such as food recovery and redistribution, helping food banks recover surplus food and direct it to those in need. The organization also offers capacity building to enhance the operational efficiency of food banks and empowers local leaders to develop community-led solutions. With a presence across six continents, GFN supports food banks in over 50 countries and has provided food to more than 40 million people in 2023, significantly contributing to reducing food waste and fostering resilient communities.
