Learning for Justice (LFJ) is a community education program of the Southern Poverty Law Center, established in 1991. Originally named Teaching Tolerance, LFJ aims to promote civic and political action education to create a more inclusive society. LFJ provides a variety of educational resources for K-12 educators and students in the U.S. and Canada. Their offerings include free lesson plans, articles, guides, films, webinars, and workshops focused on teaching tolerance and social justice. They also publish a magazine distributed to around 450,000 educators twice a year, sharing insights and strategies for promoting these values. Notable initiatives include the "Perspectives for a Diverse America" curriculum, which addresses racial disparities, and "Mix It Up at Lunch Day," an annual event encouraging students to connect with peers from different backgrounds. Additionally, LFJ features an online platform, The Learning Center, which provides civic and political action resources for all ages.
